We were in the middle of our 2-day classic fishing tournament on Saturday, started our morning 9 miles upriver from Coosa Landing, before deploying the trolling motor we were getting bites! As soon as we deployed the trolling motor we had power, turned in all directions but no power to the motor to turn the prop.....we couldn't move in any direction. We went through every troubleshooting options could on the water and spent 2 hours trying to figure it out (Thanks to our buddy Jason for trying to help while he was fishing also). We saw on Minnkota's website the closest service center was Bucks Island, so back down river to get there when or shortly after they opened to find out we couldn't get there by water with the water so shallow. We ran back halfway up, trailered the boat and drove to Bucks Island WITH a fish in the livewell! Everyone was super friendly and sent us straight to see Misty Maxwell (service manager). We explained our situation and that we were in the middle of a tournament and she got 3 of her techs (Daniel Dodson, Kenny McWaters, and Derrick Dodson) to take a look. It wasn't good news, water was in the foot, they didn't have a foot or used trolling motor) so we bought the same motor new and the guys got to work mounting it! They had the old one off, the new one on (and installed correctly) in under an hour, AND kept our fish alive!! Loaded back up, and back to the lake we went. We cannot say enough good things about Bucks Island, they made us feel right at home, really cared about us as a customer, even after the sale (Misty is helping find other needed parts for our 2019 Skeeter). This is definitely our go to Marina, even though they are 2 hours away!
Whether you are in need or not, stop in and meet this wonderful group of people (in ALL their departments), you won't regret it!
