Description
New Mercury 200L PXS TM 1.75. Manufacture date 11/2023. Please see Specs/Features
Large Displacement: With more cylinders and a larger displacement, the 4.6L V8 creates 7-24% more peak torque than the competition's V6 outboards with the same horsepower ratings, while weighing 21-109lbs lighter! Mercury’s power-to-weight ratio is unmatched. Fuel Efficiency Mercury V8 outboards don’t have to work as hard as competitors’ strained engines. This, combined with Mercury’s investment into designing the most hydrodynamic gearcases and superior propellers, means that the V8 platform can achieve up to 8% better fuel economy at cruise on 87 octane than the competitor’s product, which requires 89 octane – a key benefit for many boats in the segment that are trailered and fueled at on-road gas stations. Compact and lightweight Mercury‘s clever packaging means that all V8 outboards can mount on narrow 26” centers, a competitive advantage for Mercury, while the use of proprietary alloys and a focus on package weight produce the lightest outboards in their class. Engine Development Mercury designed, built, and validated the V8 platform for 3x the lifecycle of a typical recreational outboard. With over 23,000 hours of extreme endurance testing and 3,286 unique tests before design validation, the V8 delivers unmatched durability, reliability, and performance for all applications and operating conditions. Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) - Noise. When tested under the same conditions in Mercury’s state of the art NVH facility, the V8 300hp Four Stroke was 29-48% quieter at cruise rpm than the nearest competitors – and the V8 300hp Verado®s is an additional 5% quieter than the Four Stroke! Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) - Vibration. When tested on the same boat in back-to-back tests, the V8 300hp Four Stroke had 37-139% less felt vibrations between idle and 1000rpm than the competitor’s product, while the V8 300hp Verado with its Advanced Midsection had a remarkable 85% less felt vibrations than the Four Stroke model! Simplified Maintenance Mercury simplified maintenance on the V8 platform by enabling all regular maintenance tasks to be completed without special tools, engineering a no-spill engine oil and filter system, color coding all service points, adding a freshwater flush system up front, and designing the valvetrain to be maintenance-free for the life of the engine.
